Griffith City Council

Since the introduction of the Murrumbidgee Irrigation scheme in 1912, Griffith produces 70% of NSW wine, 95% of Australia’s rice, and 70% of the total NSW citrus product also comes from this region, oranges being the major citrus fruit.
Apart from the fine food and wine, Griffith has marvellous boutiques and crafts, visit one of the Regional Art Galleries, and the 5x12mtr Soft Sculptured Curtain at the Regional Theatre.
Set in 11 hectares of open bushland is Pioneer Park Museum, which also houses the Italian Museum.
Tranquil Lake Wyangan offers water sports and campsites, and a short journey from the city takes you to Cocoparra National Park.
Griffith boasts a wide selection of accommodation.
Our major annual events are La Festa (Easter), unWINEd (June long weekend), and the Festival Of Gardens & Citrus Sculpture display (October).
