Cootamundra Shire Council

Cootamundra is a 4 hours drive to Sydney and less than 2 hours from Canberra and about a 60 minute drive to Wagga Wagga where daily air services are available to and from Sydney.
Cootamundra is a sporting town and is renown for its sporting endeavours and hosts many regional and state sporting carnivals. It is no wonder that Sir Donald Bradman is held in high esteem. Cootamundra is the town where Sir Donald Bradman was born and an important tourist highlight is Bradman’s Birthplace Cottage with its associated Memorabilia Cottage. Jubilee Park which is one of Cootamundra’s many tree covered parks features the “Cricket Captains Walk” which is a unique collection of bronze sculptures of Australian test cricket captains.
Cootamundra’s wide tree lined streets and extensive parks and gardens give Cootamundra an ambiance which is quite different to other towns in the region.
