West Wyalong and the Bland Shire has been built on the agricultural and gold mining industries. Much of the Bland Shire’s quaint townships reflect these origins with their well maintained to abandon and weathered historic buildings including churches, grand old hotels, rural homesteads and shearing sheds.
The agricultural landscape features the vast open plains, tree studded fields and low rainfall bushland that has supported cereal cropping, sheep and cattle grazing since the early 1800s.
West Wyalong is located 483kms west of Sydney and 593kms north of Melbourne. Regional Express (Rex) flies directly between West Wyalong and Sydney four times per week.
