Oberon is literally at the top of the great divide with half our rivers flowing west and half flowing east. It is at the border of both the Central West and Blue Mountains Regions and at 1113 metres above sea level, is the highest (and coolest) of both.
Oberon has a true mountain climate, frosts occur regularly during autumn, winter and spring. Several snowfalls can be expected each year. This altitude and climate allows Oberon to enjoy spectacular scenery (world heritage national parks and caves systems, pine forests and rural outlooks, specialist farms and gardens) and a rich heritage (history, arts, culture and community).
