Mid-Western Regional Council is only 3 hours from Sydney by road or 50 minutes by air, with twice-daily services. Covering over 9400 sq km, Mid-Western Regional Council offers the entire range of environments – from pristine national parks and waterways, to rolling pasturelands.
The region offers a fine range of period towns and villages including Kandos, Rylstone, Gulgong and Mudgee. All with beautifully restored town buildings and rural homesteads.
For industry we have many mines including coal at Charbon and Ulan, Silver at Lue and Gold out towards Hill End. Closer to town there are rolling, lush vineyards as far as the eye can see, as well as cropping in season.
Our natural beauty is driven by majestic hills, valleys and the World Heritage listed Wollemi National Park. The Park is famous for the prehistoric Wollemi Pine, pockets of rainforest and pagoda rock formations.
Experience with the film industry includes ‘Spider and Rose’ and “The Nugget”. The region is film savvy and an enthusiastic supporter of film and television business.
